An exciting new venture from Hugh Evans and partners. Their goal is to buy marginal farmland and grow it into eco-sanctuaries with some awesome other uses. They are working toward a progressive model of land stewardship. Right now they are developing a super site and experience in the hills above Pukerua Bay, north of Wellington.
New DCC street banners
I was super lucky to get to design these street banners for Dunedin City Council. They’re up around the city, flapping away happily and being tricky to photograph on my phone.
The client had a nice idea about birds, and I decided to represent bush birds vs coastal birds, and sneak in a favourite bird or two. There was a nice bit in the local paper.
D&D decision cards
I made up these decision-making cards for a local Dungeons and Dragons group for young people with disabilities, that my son is part of.
The great group is run by the good people from Community Care Trust. These cards were the idea of therapist Sean, and I just wanted to make them look tight, so that they might look like an official part of the game. The idea is to simplify some of the many complex choices that a player has to make in D&D, which could be especially useful if they have something like cognitive disability and/or high anxiety. And, we pretty much all respond more seriously to things that are nicer, more formalised, where more love has gone into it.
