Strong ‘n’ dark. These nice new beer labels are for Cell Division’s bottles of Forager (a banging Belgian honey tripel) and La Biere Noire (a mean Belgian stout). A languid (but busy) bee, and a film noir-inspired sense of the twisted. If you love dark beer like I do, you must try!
window design for High St office
I drew a stylised Aoraki for these entranceway manifestations in the beautifully refitted Oritain offices in Dunedin. It was tricky, but fun. figuring it out. A visitor can look through to the windows in the northwest wall, the direction of the real maunga, roughly. Thanks Tai from Stevenson Tua’i for the ideas and gentle whip-cracking, Liz for help with the drawing, Williams for the top job installing it and Graham Warman for kindly letting me use his excellent photos.
some tap badges for Cell Division
A job-lot of these great things – fast short creative mini-projects! Nga mihi to client Jamie McQ for all the sweet ideas and names and opportunities.
Cell Division's new ciders
Design for cans and tap badges for Jamie’s new classy cider Linda, and its offshoot The Orchardist for which he collaborated with Peckham’s. It was fun trying to create the feel of Winnie-the-Pooh books.
Vision 20|20
In late 2020 I got to help with this great project named Vision 20|20. It’s about vision testing resources and learning for school students.
The dynamic team was made up of occupational therapists, an optometrist, product designers, and a whole big mob of teachers and intermediate school kids. The Vision 20|20 team asked me on board to help design some testing resources, and a logo, and to create some short animations.
Update: the project is a finalist won silver in the Best Design Awards, in the category Value of Design. Woop! Thanks to Machiko, Mary, Kelechi and Sarah and the rest of the team.
